Raintree was a highly complex project that required the highest level of collaboration to achieve successful delivery. Situated within 50m of the river Thames the development not only sat within the water table, it was also located on an extremely busy 5 way road network within Kingston, SW London. The careful construction of the basement required underpinning of an adjacent 3 storey building and the installation of a 1m high insitu wall to act as flood defence.

As if the location wasn’t challenging enough, the project team had also to navigate the challenges of delivering through the covid 19 pandemic. It was crucial to MCD that our client achieved a successful outcome, as a private developer within the hotel and leisure industry they were already feeling significant strain of the impact of the pandemic. MCD Construction worked collaboratively with our client and supported them through taking on some of the financial risk. This enabled the project to reach a successful completion and cemented a strong relationship where MCD are negotiating further work as a preferred contractor.
