Our commitment to social responsibility goes hand in hand with our business growth.

At MCD Construction, we take our social responsibility very seriously, it is engrained in our ethos and forms part of our business planning. As a growing company, we are actively shaping our Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) strategies and policies, always seeking ways to make a positive impact on the communities where we operate. Demonstrating our dedication, we have a designated Social Value Lead and an accredited Social Value Practitioner who guide our initiatives.

Addressing social challenges is a cornerstone of our strategy. We actively work towards combating loneliness and isolation in older communities, understanding the importance of fostering connections and well-being. Additionally, our efforts extend to supporting the reintegration of the long-term unemployed into the workforce and providing specialised assistance to young people classified as NEET, ensuring they receive the guidance and resources needed for a brighter future. Local spend and bolstering local economies is now a standard part of our tendering and procurement processes, together with local employment, skills and training wherever possible.

Through research and stakeholder engagement we are able to create bespoke social value plans, implementing innovative ideas that go beyond the standard requirements. Our aim is not only to meet expectations but to create a lasting legacy that enriches the communities we serve long after project completion.
